Quick note, ordered my first EDF jet last night. Its the Hobby King F-86 Mini Sabre 50mm EDF. This is an exciting addition to the Piratey Squadron and I look forward to sharing more abut her when she arrives and gets her first flight!
There is an electric powered ducted fan "jet engine" where the real engine would be in the middle of the aircraft, and it has to go very fast to keep enough air going over that thin "critical" wing. They don't do slow very well! Very cool!
How do these get lift?
