Finally my vid is out of Google Video Processing Purgatory!
Took the MX-Bach out t the field to "maiden" with the new RCGF-USA Stinger 30cc gas engine, and brought the wrong wings.... I wanted to get time on the engine, so I drove it around for a while. Right now she is really difficult to start, but once the carb is wet and she runs, she really runs sweet!
Planning to fine my mojo and get out to the field today to fly her. sorry about my finger in the vid, trying to operate the radio and hold the phone at the same time. I never quite get her to WOT as she really hauled butt...
For years Google Photos has had this awesome behavior where it will randomly decide your video will be stuck in "video processing" for hours, days, months in some cases. You can watch it on Photos, but that is it. Can't download it, can't share it... it is no longer yours. Some thought it was the file size, one of mine is 64mb. Curiously one of them is a little smaller and it was available right away. You would thing this years long issue would be fixed by now... This one below was processed right away and I was able to upload it to YouTube.

Somehow when I installed EC3 connectors I got them backwards, the Male-Female is set up Female-Male. So I had to make an adapter, and in this pic a small plug in the middle to allow me to charge it. I didn't feel like changing everything, and I am out of connectors. I put solder in the wire receiver end, a small cut piece of a M3 screw in that, and then soldered the free end into the other connector, so that M-F were soldered back to back, then the female metal part inserted into the male plastic connector. I know, more than you need to know, but it was a slow day.
The Sbach 10cc Evolution has its place in the workshop. One of the videos I can't access is a walk around while she is running. Flew several tanks and figured out her trim, and her DR and Expo. She is flying wonderfully. The vortex generators have made her stall habits much much more benign.
I picked up this Hobby Eagle 3-Axis Gyro from MotionRC for around $30 delivered/ HobbyKing doesn't seem to be brining their Orange Stabilizer systems back anytime soon, so I will give this one a shot. I am thinking of using it in the Sbach.
Hopefully I will get my videos back soon. If not, planning to "maiden" the MX-Bach tomorrow, weather permitting.
We had our monthly meeting this past Tuesday, August 13, 2019, in Hudson, NH.
Members meeting. The front table from left to right, Clarence, John, Cody and Ted.
The president of out club is the infamous Cody Wojcik, a skilled competitive 3D pilot, and aircraft designer. He took up a member's Twisted Hobbies Edge.
My shop is fairly well lit, but there are some dark spots and the desk lamp is a pain as it's always in the way. So I bought this very cool looking and amazing light from Amazon, and it came in today. Sweet.
Its small, very white and bright, and has a cool look to it with three leaves. It screw right into the bulb socket. It's light weight and very well made.
I wanted to paint the MX-Bach prop black, but wasn't sure I could pull off a nice clean sheen. Primed...
and inital coat. Its coming around very slick and nice!
SNHRCC meeting tonight! Charging up a trustworthy steed in case I fly tonight. I have lost my love flying with others, but hey, I used to really enjoy it. Hope the weather cooperates!
After her complete loss of power and dead stick into the dump, literally, she came out with a helluva lot less damage than she deserved and I expected! Fixed the structural issues, and ran the engine with the air filter in place the other day, and she runs fine. She may have had some idle end point issues, but I adjusted this a bit, and she seems pretty happy with a thrustless idle and a sweet WOT. Fixed the wings and tested the servos, she is all set. Can't wait to get her back into the air and stop this nonsense!
I am repainting the top hatch. I primed the tp where the green is in the pic, and then laid down a base of white enamel. I will be adding green rays to it to add some more pizazz, since this is my pizazz plane!
I have a carbon fiber spinner coming. I like this Ultimate style pointy spinner, but when the the screw that secures it is tightened a crack that has been there despite my epoxy work shows up again... It just needs to be replaced. I like this Aerostar (Hobbyking) 19x8 wood prop, but I want to paint it black... we'll see.
Installed the new throttle servo and the new gas tank! Its a 500cc tank.... this thing is going to fly forever.
Once I get the top hatch done and get it to fit a bit better, install the new spinner and paint the prop, I will test run her again with the new fuel setup and trhottle servo, and then, baby, its go time!
